Two championships in single day for goaltender

Brooke Archer, an 11-year-old goalie from Mossbank, captured two league championships in a single day on March 25. Archer plays hockey for the Moose Jaw peewee and bantam Mavericks.
The Moose Jaw peewee Mavericks played the Estevan Vipers in the game three final of the South Saskatchewan Female Hockey League (SSFHL) at Red Knight arena in Moose Jaw on March 25. The Mavericks won the game 7-3 taking the league championship.
The  Mavericks ended the regular season in first place and had a bye in round one. In round two, they swept the Swift Current Ice Cats in two straight games. In the final round, they met the regular season second-place ranked Vipers leading to the game three final. Along with the regular season, playoffs and provincials, the  Mavericks attended a tournament in Lloydminster where they won gold.
A few hours later, the Moose Jaw bantam A Mavericks played the Yorkton Crushers in the SSFHL game three final again at Red Knight arena in Moose Jaw on March 25. The Mavericks won 3-2 capturing the league championship.
The Mavericks ended the regular season in first place and had a bye in round one. In round two, the Mavericks swept the Weyburn Wings in two straight games and then met the Yorkton Crushers, ranked second in the regular season. The Mavericks defeated Yorkton in the game three final.
The bantam A Mavericks competed in the Provincial Female Bantam A Final against the Saskatoon Impact. Along the way, the Mavericks downed the Swift Current Titans in round one, defeated the Regina Blues in round two, beat out the Regina Cougars in round three and eventually earned a spot as a provincial finalists. The Mavericks fell to the Impact in the provincial final. The team earlier attended a tournament in Brandon where they won gold.
Archer had a stellar record in net. She played a total 63 games in goal with both the peewee and bantam teams. She recorded 53 wins, six losses and four ties as well as 17 shut-outs. Archer ended the regular season as the top ranked peewee goalie and the second ranked bantam goalie in the SSFHL.
She was invited to attend the Weyburn Southern Range Gold Wings AAA Midget camp, which was held March 31 to April 2 and will begin spring AAA hockey on April 8 with the Atlas Hockey Academy Titans. The Titans are based out of the Barkman Arena at Caronport.
The Titans will be attending tournaments in Brandon, Winnipeg and Saskatoon during the months of May and June.
