The Notekeu results from weekend and info on Senior Rebel games in the future

Coronach beat Hodgeville on Valentine’s Day, February 14 with a score of 7-6.

Coronach beat Hodgeville on Valentine’s Day, February 14 with a score of 7-6. But the next day, Hodgeville swamped Coronach with a 6-0 conquest on this Saturday night game in the Coronach Sportsplex, proving there’s parity for hockey talent in all the Notekeu League teams in the 2019-2020 season, making the outcomes unpredictable. Presently, the Hodgeville Huskies are leading in this series against the Coronach Merchants 3-1.

The Gravelbourg Hornets started the weekend round in mid-February by winning 4-1 against the Senior Rebels on Valentine’s Day in the Gravelbourg La Palestre. The Rebels began Friday night’s game with 1-0 score from Kyle Hall in the first, but Gravelbourg maintained their 2-1 lead after the second then finished the night with a four-goaled triumph after scoring into an empty net.

The Assiniboia Rebels weren’t allowing matters to slide though, as the home team fought back against Gravelbourg on Saturday night in Assiniboia, leaving the ice with a 4-3 win for the home team against the Hornets in overtime. Assiniboia is leading this series 3-1.

The Rebels took the lead in the first on a goal from Mitch Holick on Saturday night. Josh Bryant added another in the second, then the Hornets buzzed back and shot one through the home twines, making this game a 2-1 play. In one great instance, sports commentator and Assiniboia Senior Rebels coach, Bill Lothian, reported “Brayden Delorme ripped home the winner from Kyle Hall” during this Saturday night war on ice in the Civic Centre. He also said the Rebels gained a 3-1 lead in this series after Saturday night’s victory.

Game five happens on Friday night, February 21 in Assiniboia at 8:30 p.m. If necessary, the series goes back to Gravelbourg on Saturday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. This series will conclude on Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena.

“Hockey is getting tense, so come on out to see the boys advance to league finals with one more win,” Bill Lothian announced to hockey fans in the region.
