With the festive season over, the Notekeu schedule kicked into high gear on January 3 and 4.  Hodgeville won a pair, Coronach took 7-2 and the Senior Rebels earned 4-1. Glentworth nipped Gravelbourg 4-3 on Friday night and Coronach defeated Gravelbourg 5-3 on Saturday, to clearly demonstrate the parity in the league this winter.

In the Huskies/Rebels match, things were tied 0-0 after the first, but the visitors took a commanding 3-1 lead to the dressing room in the second period. Only Bryce Hall managed to beat goaltender Blade Roh that night. The Huskies added one more goal in the third to take clear possession of first place with a 4-1 victory.

The Senior Rebels will travel to Glentworth on Friday, January 10 with the puck dropping at 8:30 in the Waverly Sports Gardens. Friday night’s game will be the only Seniors match this weekend.

It should also be noted the heaters are back in full operation and the environment is again quite cozy for viewing good Senior and Junior Rebel hockey action in the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena. With just four games to go in the Notekeu League, every one is vital to playoff positioning, so come out and cheer the boys on. The next home game is January 17 verses Gravelbourg.

From the Senior Rebel players, management and executive, Happy New Year.
