Thunderstruck Ag Equipment introduced the first ever Thanks for Farming Tour – a tour created to show the farmers of the prairies how much they are appreciated.

The tour which began in Manitoba in June will reach Assiniboia on July 24. The Thanks for Farming Tour will be held in the Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre at 201 Third Avenue West.

Health and safety are on everyone’s minds, so Thunderstruck included a safety advisor on the tour planning team to ensure these events are COVID-19 protocol compliant in every way possible, as the team headed from Manitoba through to Alberta.

Limiting the number of people at each event, regularly scheduled times for cleaning, sanitizing, proper handling storage protocols, physical distancing and contact tracing are included in the tour plan, making sure these events are safe for everyone.

This tour will take the Thunderstruck Ag Sales team, along with several Ag industry exhibitors, across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

The tour will stop in nine different communities to host 18 events to say thank you to the hardworking prairie farmers with food, drink and a celebration just for them.

Thunderstruck partnered with local restaurants and suppliers of the communities where the tours are held, to help build community and support the local towns where the farmers live.

Plus, Thunderstruck will make financial donations to the local 4H chapters in each community, to continue showing their appreciation for the agriculture industry and everyone involved in it.

When Thunderstruck was brainstorming how tradeshows would look this year, connection with farmers was the biggest thing the team had missed.

Thunderstruck also heard from the farmers that they were missing this fellowship as well. So, this tour will offer farmers a chance to get off the farm or out of the shop for a few hours and into community with people who understand the challenges they face.

Two presenters will be talking with the farmers about agricultural topics specific to their communities and mental health, which will create opportunities for farmers to talk about their struggles with other farmers who can relate and provide a support system for them.

Thunderstruck Ag Equipment is excited to bring the Thanks for Farming Tour to the prairies and is looking forward to this becoming an annual event that will get bigger and better each year.

Additional dates in Saskatchewan for the tour include Craik, (July 27) and North Battleford (July 29).
