The Assiniboia RCMP have discovered the whereabouts of Claudette Ferguson

The Assiniboia RCMP sought the public's assistance in their search for Claudette Ferguson of Wood Mountain Lakota First Nation on the morning of Dec 28. A day later, a police investigation led to the discovery of Ferguson’s death.

A day later, a police investigation led to the discovery of Ferguson’s death. She’d been last seen driving a red 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck with the Saskatchewan licence plate number 881 LMF in Assiniboia at approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 27, 2019.  

The Assiniboia RCMP detachment issued a statement on 6:25 a.m. December 28, informing the public they were looking for a 74-year-old First Nation female 5’1” (154 cm) in height with a thin build and white hair. Mrs. Ferguson had been believed to be wearing a white winter jacket, black leggings and black winter boots the day she went missing.

Claudette Ferguson of Wood Mountain Lakota First Nation had been located deceased in another statement from the RCMP on 2:45 p.m. on December 28. During the preliminary stage of the investigation, the RCMP said Ferguson’s death wasn’t suspicious, but they also said an inquiry was continuing.
