Assiniboia Family and Child Care Services is excited to be hosting their annual art auction and art celebration in partnership with Shurniak Gallery on October 27 at 1:30 p.m. The masterpieces created by the children at ACCS will be displayed from October 22-27.
Assiniboia Family and Child Care Services want to invite Assiniboians to this artistic event. The presence of community residents at this creative occasion will generate added interest outside of the families involved with ACCS. Moreover, by attending this event, guests will develop new connections to the children and their families who are involved with ACCS.
Should anyone wish to contribute at a different level, donations will be accepted for the silent auction.This year, the ACCS is hosting online bids, with the bidding starting on October 15. Art buyers are encouraged to check out the Assiniboia Child Care Services’ Facebook page when the artworks are selected to go online for the auction.
This event will raise approximately $3000, which will be used for special program needs for local childcare. The cash obtained from the art show will assist the ACCS to keep childcare fees affordable for working families. Previously, the art show has also contributed to the community in different ways, such as raising the profile of quality childcare within the community. Excellence in childcare continues to be an important factor for the success of children in working families in Assiniboia and across the nation. Parents with quality care for their children have reported to be better employees, so this in turn has directly benefited local employers.
ACCS has also donated art to the annual Festival of Trees and the Firemen’s Ball, where $350 has been raised on average for each piece on display. Since the ACCS is a charitable organization, they are able to issue tax receipts for art buyers.
