The Assiniboia Senior Rebels are busily preparing for the start of the 2019-2020 Notekeu Hockey League season. The roster has basically been set with a few changes from last year’s championship run. The line-up for 2019-2020 will feature some new additions to assist the Rebels, as they make the bid to retain their title and create some exciting local senior hockey.

Gone are veterans Derek Lessmeister, Al Sinclair, Chase Dahlman and a solid D-man in Cody Lightfoot. Locals Kyle Hall, Landon Marit and Dakota Helland, along with ex-SJHLer Josh Bryant, will inject some youth into the ranks. These guys should add some great scoring punch and defensive help. Toni (Ross) Giraudier will provide a solid tandem with Spencer Bushell in net. Lessmeister will be part of the team management and coaching staff.

A big thanks to all those who came out and supported the Rebels Steak Nite fundraiser and to those who purchased squares on the team’s season Hatpool Board. Thanks to the businesses who supported the program advertising campaign. To all the fans, the Rebels truly appreciate their regular support at the rink and hope to see them at games as often as possible. Community backing is vital for making senior hockey exist in this town and region.
