When Assiniboia Child Care Services expressed a wish to have a screened room at the Daycare, the Rotary Club of Assiniboia stepped in to help with funding.
It was explained that this room would allow some of the younger children access to an outdoor space with fresh air during inclement weather and to play without worry of mosquitoes during the summer months.
The Rotary Club donated $5,000 of the approximate $14,000 cost for the patio’s construction. ACCS honoured the Rotary Club by naming the space “The Rotary Room.” Fundraisers such as the Community Calendar and Annual Dinner Theatre made it possible for the club to help fund local projects like this, as well as international projects.
