May 22 – May 28 COVID-19-related Saskatchewan RCMP calls for service

The RCMP reported 62 calls for service related to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan from May 22 to May 28.

The RCMP reported 62 calls for service related to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan from May 22 to May 28. Thirteen of the complaints related to large gatherings of over 10 people; three complaints of people failing to self-isolate when allegedly required to do so; and there were 46 other COVID-19 related calls in the province.

No charges were laid, but the Public Health Order given by the provincial government is still in place. The RCMP will continue to work closely with Saskatchewan Health Authority to investigate any probable violations of the order.

The RCMP in Saskatchewan will ensure communities are safe by responding to calls for service. With the province starting to reopen, the RCMP reminded everyone to do their part to halt the spread of COVID-19 by following the Public Health Order issued by the SHA, which still remains as law.

According to weekly crime statistics provided by the Assiniboia RCMP-GRC for the week of May 25-31, there were 33 calls for service. Nineteen of the calls were related to traffic tickets and warnings.
