Local officer is charged with impaired driving

An RCMP officer with 15 years of service has been charged with impaired driving. Assiniboia RCMP said they were called to the Wood Mountain Provincial Park after a disturbance complaint shortly after midnight on July 22.

Assiniboia RCMP said they were called to the Wood Mountain Provincial Park after a disturbance complaint shortly after midnight on July 22.

The suspect had left the park, but officers pulled him over. At this point, they discovered he was an off-duty member of the Assiniboia detachment.

Sergeant Donald Duplissea was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impairment with a blood alcohol concentration measuring over .08. He was placed on administrative duty. Duplissea will return to court August 9 in Assiniboia.
