Life drawing classes to be organized in Assiniboia

Local artists, take note. The Assiniboia and District Arts Council is holding a four-day anatomy drawing course running on the Saturdays of November 23, November 30, December 7 and December 14 from 1-4 p.m.

Local artists, take note. The Assiniboia and District Arts Council is holding a four-day anatomy drawing course running on the Saturdays of November 23, November 30, December 7 and December 14 from 1-4 p.m. The art lessons will be held at 531 Centre Street in Assiniboia. Marie Beaudoin will be the instructor for those who are wishing to participate in this anatomy drawing course. The cost to attend these classes is $90 per person.

Students are asked to bring sketchbooks, pencils, erasers, charcoal and drawing paper to the drawing course. Other specialized art materials such as willow charcoal will be supplied for the students. The first two classes will involve preparatory studies in drawing faces, hands, feet and the human body. Life drawing from models will begin on December 7 and December 14. All skill levels in drawing are welcomed.

Also, Beaudoin is searching for a life drawing art models, to allow the students to sketch the human anatomy with accuracy. Models should be comfortable in posing for long intervals. Potential models should also be willing to pose in form fitting clothes to display the human body. Every body type will be appreciated, as the students learn how to depict human anatomy on paper. If there are any questions on these classes, or what is required to be a model, Beaudoin will clarify what is necessary for all those who are interested.
