The Saskatchewan Health Authority confirmed a community transmitted outbreak in Saskatoon. Medical Health Officer Dr. Johnmark Opondo declared the outbreak on May 27. The outbreak resulted from one confirmed positive case and one presumptive positive case occurring between May 21 and 26.

These cases were associated with two family gatherings in early May – both events exceeded the public health order of 10 people. The outbreak was declared since different households were involved with these latest transmissions through contact after attending the unlawful assemblies.

Two Saskatchewan residents from the Far North who tested positive for COVID-19 had died: one was an individual in their 80s and the other in their 60s, bringing the sum of deaths in the province to 10. This total also included a death initially reported as under investigation on May 26. There are three new cases of COVID-19, bringing the provincial number to 637. Two of the newest cases originated in the Regina region and one came from the Far North.

Of the 637 reported cases in Saskatchewan, 68 were considered active. Ten more people have recuperated, leaving this provincial total at 559.
