Collision outside of Moose Jaw causes fatality

Moose Jaw RCMP released information at 5:35 p.m. on October 16 about a fatal accident outside of the city, where two motor vehicles collided on the eastbound lane of Highway One, approximately five kilometres west of Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw RCMP released information at 5:35 p.m. on October 16 about a fatal accident outside of the city, where two motor vehicles collided on the eastbound lane of Highway One, approximately five kilometres west of Moose Jaw. One person died as a result of this collision.

Both eastbound lanes of Highway One at the location of the accident were closed during the investigation. Also, detours were put into place to redirect traffic through the City of Moose Jaw. Motorists were asked to obey directives given by the officers at the scene of the accident. Moose Jaw RCMP, RCMP traffic analysts and Saskatchewan Highway representatives soon arrived at the scene. As the investigation progressed, motorists were advised about the westbound lanes being partially or completely closed. The RCMP further advised that whenever lanes are closed, detours would also be put in place. At 9:55 p.m. the RCMP notitified the public that all the lanes of Highway One west of Moose Jaw were reopened to traffic.
