The Recreation and Community Wellness department in Assiniboia is holding a memorial evening in Centennial Park on November 13 at 6 p.m. The event will honour loved ones who’ve been lost.
Cherished family members and others who’ve passed away will be memorialized by glowing lights fixed onto trees in the park. The Recreation and Community Wellness department will be selling these lights for $10 each at the Assiniboia Town Office, starting on September 5 during Community Registration Night from 4:30-7 p.m. The lights will remain on sale at the Assiniboia Town Office until October 18.
There will be a lighting ceremony and a bonfire in Centennial Park on November 13. Hot chocolate and hotdogs will also be served. All the loved ones who are commemorated with tree lights glowing in the park in their memory will also have their names printed in the Assiniboia Times.
