Assiniboia’s third annual Twinkle Tour to follow COVID-19 protocol

In respect to COVID-19 restrictions, Assiniboia’s Christmas light sightseers won’t be gathering at the Kin Hut this year for the third annual Twinkle Tour running from December 8-10.

In respect to COVID-19 restrictions, Assiniboia’s Christmas light sightseers won’t be gathering at the Kin Hut this year for the third annual Twinkle Tour running from December 8-10.

Instead, those who are interested in viewing the spectacular Christmas light displays throughout Assiniboia will be able to study a virtual map featuring all the decorated homes on the town’s website at www.assiniboia.net by December 8, when they can start voting for their favourite homes lit-up with the Christmas spirit.

A paper copy of the Twinkle Tour map will also be available at the town’s bulletin board near the Canada Post Office.

This year, people were encouraged to either nominate their neighbours or register their homes for the Twinkle Tour by December 4 in order to reserve a place on the tour map.

This celebration commemorating Assiniboia’s decorated homes for the Christmas season is jointly organized by the Town of Assiniboia and the Kinsmen.

Last year, the People’s Choice 2019 winners for the Twinkle Tour were as follows: first place went to Dave and Kerri Martin. The second place was given to Dallas Moneo, who was the first-place winner of the 2018 Twinkle Tour. Finally, the third position for the 2019 Twinkle Tour went to Nathan and Jessica Rust.
