“I am looking forward to the first week in September, when two new doctors arrive in our community,” Mayor Bob Himbeault said in his monthly message printed in the Assiniboia Times on August 30.

Assiniboia’s newest doctors, Dr. M. Teimoori and Dr. M Shahsavan, will be scheduled to work at the Red Coat Clinic. The pair appeared at a welcome come and go tea held for them on September 6 from 11-1:00 p.m. in the Assiniboia Town Hall. Dr. M. Teimoori and Dr. M. Shahsavan, who both received their medical degrees in Tehran – Iran’s capital city – were pleased with their Assiniboia postings after receiving supplementary training in different parts of Canada and Saskatchewan.

“Actually, it’s very friendly here,” Dr. Teimoori said. Before coming to Saskatchewan, Teimoori obtained extra schooling for two years in Montreal to gain familiarity with the Canadian system. He collected additional training experiences in Saskatoon, Rosetown and Swift Current. “I hope I have a good practice,” Teimoori said.

Before coming to Saskatchewan, Dr. Shahsavan spent 2-3 years in Burnaby. Previous to his arrival in Canada, Dr. Shahsavan was educated in Azad University. Dr. Shahsavan acquired a variety of experiences in Saskatchewan before arriving in Assiniboia, including an orientation session in Saskatoon, an urban rotation in Swift Current and additional sessions in Meadow Lake and North Battleford.
