Assiniboia RCMP are concerned about an escalation in local crimes

In recent months, the Assiniboia RCMP has seen an increase in calls for service pertaining to property crime, such as break and enters, thefts and mischiefs.

In recent months, the Assiniboia RCMP has seen an increase in calls for service pertaining to property crime, such as break and enters, thefts and mischiefs.

This increase has been throughout the detachment area, including but not limited to the Rural Municipalities of Lake of the Rivers, Stonehenge and within the Town of Assiniboia.

In order to help prevent property crime, the Assiniboia RCMP strongly encourages citizens to keep valuable items securely stored, ensure buildings and vehicles are locked and keep outdoor spaces well-lit.

If possible, the RCMP urges people to install security or surveillance systems, which would possibly assist in investigations in the event that crimes occur.

Citizens can become part of the Rural Crime Watch program at https://sarm.ca/advocacy/rural-crime-watch or sign onto the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network at https://member.everbridge.net/453003085619333/login to receive text messages, phone calls, or emails in regards to criminal activity in their area.
