From the Desk of the Wood Mountain Librarians

With everything going on in the world right now, all the branches of the Palliser Regional Library had to officially close to their doors to the public.

With everything going on in the world right now, all the branches of the Palliser Regional Library had to officially close to their doors to the public. But that doesn’t mean patrons can’t access some great reading and other resource materials to help them pass the time at home. The librarians at Wood Mountain want their patrons to know about some of the free online services they already have access to with their library cards. No matter what their interests, the library has got it covered on the Palliser Regional Library's website.

If anyone likes doing art and crafts with their kids, they can check out Creativebug for unlimited access to thousands of award-winning art and craft video classes.

Want to sit back and enjoy a movie, or listen to an audiobook to pass the time? Then go to the hoopla app, where it’s possible to stream or download hundreds of thousands of movies, music, audiobooks and more. Also, check out Library2Go for unlimited downloads of eBooks and audiobooks.

Miss reading the paper? No problem. Check out Press Reader, which has all the latest editions of newspapers from Canada and many other countries.

High school kids can go to the Gale OneFile High School Student Edition for access to over 2,000 titles of reference material on current events, arts, science and so much more. And for mums who have little ones at home that need to keep busy, Tumblebooks is perfect for them, with an online collection of animated, talking picture books to keep the little ones occupied for hours. So, go to www.palliserlibrary.ca/eresources for links to all these resources and much more.

For more information, be sure to check out the Wood Mountain Library Facebook page, where there’ll be postings about online resources and activities that can be done at home to keep the kids reading. Also, this page will have information on when the library will reopen.
