Creative Saskatchewan appointed new CEO

The Creative Saskatchewan Board of Directors announced the appointment of Erin Dean to the position of Chief Executive Officer on Aug. 24.

The Creative Saskatchewan Board of Directors announced the appointment of Erin Dean to the position of Chief Executive Officer on Aug. 24.

Dean served as Creative Saskatchewan's Director of Programs and Investments since the agency's inception in 2013.

Her appointment as the agency's CEO is effective immediately.

"Erin has played an essential leadership role at Creative Saskatchewan since the doors first opened," said Jason Zhao, Board Chair of Creative Saskatchewan. "Her proven track record of delivering on the agency's mandate, her unmatched knowledge of the agency's operations and her unwavering commitment to the commercial success of Saskatchewan's creative entrepreneurs make her the best choice to lead the agency."

"Over the past seven years, I've had the opportunity to build relationships with many Creative Saskatchewan stakeholders, while ensuring our grant and equity programs helped creative entrepreneurs pursue commercial success," said Dean.

"I look forward to building on and strengthening these relationships in my new role and ensuring our investments and programs continue to propel Saskatchewan's creative industries," Dean added.

Prior to her tenure at Creative Saskatchewan, Dean worked in film and television production, where she developed industry business expertise from both the public and the private sector perspectives.

She holds a BFA in Film and Video Production from the University of Regina.
