Gravelbourg now has new dugouts for its south ball diamonds due to donations from the Gravelbourg Lions Club and the Town of Gravelbourg.
More upgrading is on the way. The Gravelbourg Lions Club made a $10,000 donation which will be used to upgrade the infield on the third ball diamond in the town.
The town and local volunteers are helping to work on the infield. The infield is grass now but will be converted into a shale infield. The town hopes that the work can be completed  for the ball season this year.
The Town of Gravelbourg had allocated $5,000 for the dugouts which were completed by the end of April. The work for the dugouts was organized by Jackie Berg and the labour was handled by volunteers from the Gravelbourg Minor Ball Association. The cement was provided locally by Ron Bouvier.
Gravelbourg has one senior men’s ball team as well as minor league girls and boys teams. The Wood River boys league playoffs take place in Coronach on the weekend of Monday and Tuesday, June 10-11.
Gravelbourg will be hosting the district minor ball finals this spring. The minor ball girls league softball playoffs take place on Monday and Tuesday, June 24-25 in Gravelbourg. Teams from all over the south country will be playing in the league playoffs.
